input + software = output

this has been the bane of computer music from the very beginning...back in
the 70's it was refered to as "push-button music" and was considered
nothing more than academic wankery...the "input + software = output" quote
is an astute insight and I'm pleased you brought up this topic...what do
other composers out there feel about the "input + software = output" equation?
