It's been a while, but I've used MAX for performance
many times.

A patch I developed does something very similar but
using MIDI. Sounds were loaded on a sampler, I would
modify filters and levels with a PC-1600x, and trigger/
loop drums with some piezo triggers I built.

Another piece I developed used a simple MIDI delay
to create infinite loops, a kind of MIDI Frippertronics
if you will. Nothing too fancy, but very efective, the
results can be very nice.

I've done some things with MSP and VST plug-ins, but
nothing yet for live performance.

The performance of JHNO, that I mentioned on another
post, used MSP, a PC1600 and a Korg Kaos Pad to sequence
Audio in real-time, he could filter and efx the tracks...

The coolest thing was the name scheme he used for his
audio files, they included time and key. This allowed
MAX/MSP to recognize the files when introduced to the
patch, and modify them to fit the time and key he was
already playing in. Very cool, smart stuff, and very
beautiful music.

Anyway..., I would, of course, love to share any ideas
or patches with you...

hope this wasn't too off-topic...

All the best,

Eloy
