Track length is a strange thing for sure. I've gotten more than a few
comments in reviews that some of my tracks are "pop" length, as if
that's a BAD thing. If it's too short then put it on repeat, I say...

At times I do actually feel like I'm writing pop music, but with a
different sound vocabulary and melodic reference points. Is that such a
bad thing? I know that I am also a bit self conscious, at times, of
boring the listening. I myself much prefer tracks to be short and sweet,
rather than over long... which is not to say that I do not like long
tracks when the ideas/music merit it.

So, I have felt strong biases both ways (under 2-3 min or over 6-7)...
and not much thought given to the 3-5 minute track length...
