.....question is, whose failure? the artist's realization of her intention
is her subjective success....and the work's resonance with an audience
is an objective success.

the artist could imperfectly realize her vision, and create a "failure"
.....yet if qualities in the work resonate, for the audience it's a 
"success".
and vice versa.

is "success" good sounds? no no no please: that's fashion, not art.
us cutting-edge types here at microsound might be redefining
sonic boundaries, but it's not so simple to redefine the creative 
endeavor.
the same rules apply, as they have in all art all thru history and into 
the
future: "success" comes from the unique personal vision of the artist....
and thru the way the vision is given expression. 

"success" is about daring to see and feel -- to reside in one's 
individuality --
to be free from inner agenda -- to access the trans-personal, the 
numinous -- 
and with luck, to be lost in it 

to create art is the most complete test of one's humanity
