Sharp has some hardware-software combinations for this purpose; see the
company's web site for more details.  Meanwhile, I have just bought my
second Sharp MD walkman recorder - the 831 - and love it - especially the
digital fade-in/fade-out options.  I suggest doing a bit of research at

http://www.minidisc.org

and then buying the gear from Japan or HK, as it is at least one
generation ahead and generally cheaper in Asia.  I have bought both Sharps
from Sawada Denki in Osaka (see the purchasing links from the site above)
and recommend this shop very highly.
