Re: microsound Digest 15 Mar 2000 13:51:28 -0000 Issue 66

there were any number of mistakes in these terrible little reviews..
   .just some corrections

here's what Vital said about Sigma:

[An aside...personally...I don't find the droney guitar reference]

SIGMA EDITIONS:
ROSY PARLANE - #1-4 (CD)
PARMENTIER - LUXSOUND (CD)
MINIT - MUSIC (CD)
D. HAINES - BLITHER (CD)
VLADISLAV DELAY - ELE (CD)

"is a small label from Australia,"..
.well it just not...it is not really from anywhere...if dion is the
main thrust of the label then it is from rotterdam where he is currently
living. when he set up the label he was living in melbourne, but of course
he is from new zealand.

"001 is Rosy Parlane, once a member of Thelia"
should be 'thela' a band from auckland which was pushed forward by a
city that wasn't into them and a band (sonic youth) which was.

"005 is by Vladislav Delay, and the first non-australian one."
as already said....dion and rosy are from new zealand, dion lives in
rotterdam and rosy lives in auckland, torben tilly from minit is from
wellington in new zealand, david has a british passport but grew up in
australia and wishes he was from new zealand...that leaves jasmine guffond
who is from sydney and as such the only real australian on the label....

if anyone wants to hear this stuff on realaudio and any number of
australian nz electronica (incl.mr.pimmon) i curate a site called
'l'audible' at
    <www.laudanum.net/laudible>
if you hunt around i am sure there is a link to the sigma site there
       maybe via <www.laudanum.net/>
