Re: [microsound] cell phone noise

i'm replying after a lag, someone else may have
pointed out the adalaide hospital research, which
implied that 18 months of 1 hr. use each day (on a
cell phone) leaves one with an eightfold risk for
tumor. emfs, the most insidious noise. kj

Well if I understand correctly (being a non-doctor) a tumor is the result of a glitch in genetic replication or immunological response, so it fits well within the Post-Digital Aesthetic, no? Is not the glitch as now fetishized simply the once undesirable artifact of technological activity rendered aesthetically relevant - the accident distilled as substance? Maybe big lumps on each side of the head from overzealous cellphone chatter will be included within that Aesthetic as well, and perhaps cellphones will soon be designed in such a way as to more pleasingly mold the shapes of these lumps. Then again, there ARE headsets, for those who prefer the Borg look...
