Any real audio files out there that would permit me to take a listen?
I looked at Sub Rosa's website for a link, but it seems to having a
makeover at the moment. I can only describe "Cirque" as bizarre and quite
playful mixture of cut-up percussion (but not really jungle), recognizable
acoustic instruments such as piano and violin, quirky analog and digital
synthesizer noises, and stealth DSP missions across the whole, bringing the
sublime atmospheric explorations of Hanno Yoshihiro's (aka Multiphonic
Ensemble) soundtrack to Hou Hsiou-Hsien's "Flowers of Shanghai" into the
realm of experimental rhythmic music with quite stunning results. And as
one would expect of an album - but would find so rarely nowadays - "Cirque"
is no mere collection of tracks, but is rather a wildly diverse scattering
of sound all drawn together with elegantly balanced dynamic and mood shifts
within the structure of Hanno's 18-ring circus. With this and Freeform's
"Green Park," Sub Rosa is laying claim to some of the most interesting
unincorporated territories along the margins of new electronic music.

...I bet it beats the sound of my Mac´s fan. Boy I hate that sound.
The offensive noisiness of the G4 fan is such a pervasive thread on the
Logic list that I am reminded all too often there of the "Twin Peaks"
obsession with silent drape runners. But that said, its penchant for
ill-timed singalongs is a bit of an annoyance when trying to absorb the
near silence of a Tsai Ming-Liang film from the DVD drive!
On Autechre, for an example of what an increased focus upon melody and a
more controlled obsession with beat-tweaking might bring, listen to The
Remote Viewer or Markant's "18" 2x10" - the result is quite lovely actually.
