found this on a hotline server, might be of interest:
Is it safe to use Hotline Client 1.8???
The word on Hotline 1.8 is that it really stinks.
everybody is reverse-engineering it,
and i advise to NOT use it untill we all know more.
people be forewarned that the new hotline client v1.8 had a new
"feature" that they don't let you know about. In the Data folder I
found a file called Cookie... and in that Cookie file which I opened
with BBEdit, I found reference to Doubleclick, the ad company that
got in hot water for proposing merging users browsing habits on the
web with other databases which could include name, address, phone#
etc...
Replace the cookies file with a folder named "Cookies".
