A new life [in 75-word increments]
Through an unusual and unexpected chain of events, I find myself
freelancing for Wired. I'll spare you the details, but the outcome is
that I'm in a position to argue even more forcefully for the aesthetic
which informs my last decade and something on the radio [see
http://www.rtqe.net for evidence of this], and to do so in an interesting
place. In particular, I'd like to endeavour to bring some more of the
material we discuss here and communally listen to into the Wired
review area, if it's at all possible. Of course, quite a lot of this depends
on my successfully running the Gen Y digerati editorial gauntlet, but
I am confident of my editor's skills and my own.
What is considerably *more* difficult involves the editorial dictum
that I live N months into the future. For example, I couldn't polish
off a review of anything with a street date earlier than 1 October if
I were to set my scrivener bit high right this picosecond.
To that end, I'd appreciate any pointers you could offer to purveyors
of the material we all know and love for label contacts, etc. I think
it best to take this to email, but I'd really like to begin being a little
proactive. While Ken Vendermark and Pole 3 are all well and good,
I think there's room for improvement.
Thanks for your help. And look - no blather about postmodernism!
