bottom of the clicks

perhaps this is too mean spirited.. sorry



with all of the minimal/abstract/so on stuff that is coming out, do people 
have a "worst of the clicks" list. (... Is Kid 606 right, are we going to 
hear this stuff in TV ads soon, like drum & bass?)

I nominate the Dean Roberts disc "All Cracked Medias". Actually the track 
'kompakt arcade' is pretty good... but what ruined it for me is the poorly 
spelled and agrammatical manifesto written on the inside cover. Don't expect 
me to take this kind of po-mo theory seriously if you can't even spell or 
form a proper sentence... it just ruined an otherwise OK disc for me.

On a similar note, "Clicks + Cuts" is also riddled with bad spelling 
(there's a big difference between *its* and *it's*) This shouldn't matter, I 
know, but Mille Plateaux seems to take theory so seriously.. it's hard to 
take *them* seriously when things look so amateurish. (and when their 
artists don't seem to care at all about the ideas behind the label, with the 
possible exception of Thaemlitz, another person whose writing I can't wade 
through.)


Perhaps I am not getting into the spirit of things. But there is just so 
much electro-minimalist stuff now that I'm starting to overdose.
