Performances
19:00-00:00

August 18
Heimir Björgúlfsson
Björgúlfsson is member of the Icelandic trio Stilluppsteypa, famous for it?s minimal experimental techno.
Armed with a laptop and electronics he also produces solo-albums, stressed by the emphasis on time and
silence. Abrupt sounderruptions alternate with barely noticeable tones. Together they provide an
irresistible listening attention.

August 19
Goem
Goem is Frans de Waard, Roel Meelkop and Peter Duimelinks. The trio presents gradually evolving
minimal techno in which subtle beats support the attentive listening experience. The sound pallet is
largely based on the Student Stimulator, an old fashioned medical device responsible for regular pulses.
This pallet, together with a wide range of exterior sounds, is used and re-used by Goem over and over
again.

August 20
Doppler
Doppler is a groovy jazz-noise trio. Improvisation, grooves and recycling of livesounds are the main
ingredients of their cinematic music. Percussionst Wim Sebo plays odd metres with a natural groove,
mixed live by Jan Klug on reeds and electronics. Third member Ivo Bol plays bass and electronics.
Samples of both rehearsal sessions and other sources are accompanying the live sounds, responsible for an
exciting and alienating final result.

August 20
Kapotte Muziek
Frans de Waard, Roel Meelkop and Peter Duimelinks are the persons responsible for one of the leading
groups of the Dutch experimental electronica-scene. A found-soundarchive, plus material gathered at the
performance place is the soundbase for their live concerts. By means of several analogue and digital
techniques they finally produce an unique unity of sounds.

August 21
thu20
Roel Meelkop, Peter Duimelinks, dj DMDN and Jos Smolders are the electroacoustic unit THU20.
Coming from the Dutch electronica underground they produce an one-off unity of concrete sounds and
not-commonly used studiotechniques. Everyday sounds are worked on in such a way that the qualification
?modern musique concrëte group? isn?t an exaggerated term.

August 22
Robert van heumen
Even though Robert van Heumen?s music is largely sampler-based, he also makes use of trumpet and
found sound. A long stay in New York garantees the large diversity of his compositions. Some illustrating
denominators: soundtrack, improvised music, mutted trumpet and voice/tv samples.

August 23
Jan Paul Westgeest
The young and talented Dutch composer Jan Paul Westgeest writes versatile pieces that bridge the gap
between classical electronics, abstract techno and droning ambient. He will make use of the container not
only as the performance place, but also as the main soundsource of of the performance itself.

Installations

August 25-27
Matthias Weissengruber
Vienna based artist Matthias Weissengruber made an installation in which the visitor has to lie on the
floor. Looking up he sees a beautiful baby projected on the container?s ceiling. Weiâengruber managed to
produce a piece in which the viewer is intimately confronted with naked vulnerability and innocence.

August 24-27
Magz Hall
British artist Magz Hall produced a soundinstallation based on environmental sounds of the Brighton Pier.
She has captured the sounds of the slot machines and seagulls, people and sea, which are projected in such
a way that the visitor re-experiences the recorded situation. To make the experience complete the
visitor walks on authentic Brighton pebbles and is surrounded by the smell of fuel-oil and vinegar.
