I first encountered it several years earlier in Coil's album "Worship the Glitch." Yes, the hooded guy in Linz - or not in Linz. It was amusing then, but now the word's more standardized overuse risks ossification into formula, a distress which any in experimental music will pray to avoid. To be in-fashion is to be about-to-be-out-of-fashion. To be caught in the specimen jar of classificatory zeal is less fun for the bug than for the scientist.
