perhaps the microsound list simply isn't the target audience for the Luomo
material. i mean, what other Force/Force Tracks records explore the
"microsound" arena? maybe being closely aligned with a genre that shys
from pop conventions like vocals and accessible beats will pretty much
preclude you from enjoying Luomo. it's a far cry from the other releases
talked about on this list.
i "get" it. but i wouldn't expect it to find much acceptance on this list.
it's simply too different from a) the music that's usually discussed
here,
and b) more importantly, it's a departure from his usual style. if it
wasn't Delay it would have missed the list entirely.
i think it's brilliant that Delay was able to pull off these new records.
imo it takes some skill to make these kinds of tunes without falling into
the pit of cheese, which i'm sure is what some of you think is precisely
what happened. but look at it from a dance music perspective: the
attention to detail that Delay has given us with these records is VERY
refreshing considering the average house fare. yes, the beats are
"standard," but. . .man, i think i'm digging myself a real whole here.
nevermind.
it's good house, very good. goes good with other good house like isolee
and playhouse. but it's house, so you can't expect it to sound like Entain
or Sistol.
