SPAMtron
Pardon the intrusion,
I will post this only one more time a month from now. I have just started a
new list at egroups called 'spamtron'. If you are interested in IDM, Electro
acoustic music, breakcore/drill'n'bass etc., electro, ambient, and any and
all kinds of electronic and 'avant-guard' music and multi-media arts, then
this list may be of interest to you. Here is the blurb I wrote for the list
which can be found at the URL specified below:
"Only the best in quality spam will be tolerated. You can post about
releases (your own or somebody elses), preferably but not necessarily w/
reviews. Each release need only be announced once. Please do not respond to
reviews. You may write a review about a release which has already been
reviewed if you feel it absolutely necessary. Flame baiters and those who
respond will be banned instantly (especially those who complain about the
flaming). You can post about parties or radio shows where interesting
musicians or DJs or other artists are performing or showing. Post about
interseting publications, e or not. You can post fortnightly if you wish,
indicating where your trade/sale, gear/music/art lists reside (i.e. do not
post your tradelists). If you are a label or know of an interesting URL,
post about it. The list is really meant for standalone posts, not
discussions. I am creating it because I, and probably many others amongst
you no longer have time to wade through a lot of #@%* to get to the meaty
bits. The list is intended for those who might haunt Microsound,
IDM, IDM Mart, IDM making or any other tech sites, C8, ambientnoise, etc. It
would be nice to have posts about music outside of the so-called 'pop'
circuit as well. University and 'serious' electronics releases, concerts,
websites, publications. I hope that these guidlines are clear enough in
their meaning, and that I will not be forced to ban anybody. I would also
appreciate any help w/ moderating the list, as I am quite short on time.
Please be sure not to send in the entire digest w/ a reply, and to always
include a descriptive subject header. The list has a very specific aim in
mind; high content, low noise, and diversity in the music and other art
forms which are posted about. If you don't like it start your own, it's
free. Hopefully this will become a valuable information resource for all of
us.
Thanks,
C
