last question about g3 laptops

I saw a friends g3 running today and it seems quite fast..

I am seriously giving the g3400 or 500 laptop a go, having both pc and mac
for music may be fun....

I am using these software but not sure what mac has ..

I only put this question to the micro list as most of you have macs and
music is the main thing i intend to do....ALSO do any of you use the
Digigram VX card.....how is it?
