RE: [microsound] Skipping CDRs
I've had no luck with my CD players. I've tried the cd-roms in my pc and my
Sony Discman (which is newer). I turned the skip protection off on the Sony
but it still reads right through my abuse (amazingly!).
One thing I have accomplished, and this is no secret im sure, are those
farben/gramm clicks merely by sampling very small bits of audio data and
normalizing them (also playing with the "pitch" in my sampler with them as
well... and of course messing about with effects).
Anybody else out there with more "success" in this area... I'd like to hear
your thoughts (privately or publicly).
Thanks.

get yourself a cheap older model cd-dj player with a jog wheel. make
sure that the backspin and pitch adjust are older and less
"true-to-life" than the newer stuff coming out these days.
the worse the backspin and scratching modeling is, the better it is as a
glitch cd player.
with a little luck you could be the next i-dork-m glitch superstar. :)
