ROPE CD #2 out on Geist Rec. UK

Please excuse the advertising character of this message. TX.

Still i wanted to let you all finally know, that the second album of ROPE entitled
"It´s no fun to compute" is out on vinyl and CD on the DHR-sublabel Geist Rec. UK
(since July already).
Available online via the shop section of http://www.digitalhardcore.com
also on forced exposure etc.

ROPE is an electro-acoustic (meanwhile: live-) project from Berlin, Germany, which focusses on an
evolutionary approach to the mixing of classical songstructures w/ live-electronic fragmentation,
remixing of itself etc. on the base of a few "themes" and mainly improvisation.
www.freq.org.uk calls it "sometimes a rude slap in the face of electronica" and that´s partly
what it is, since it strongly recommends doing in favour of thinking as well as following
inspiration instead of analysis on the base of the fact, that "you can´t use a computer as a
screwdriver even if that was part of the reason why you bought it - since the salesperson has
described this as one amongst a wealth of other halfworking features".
Rope clearly dislikes the outlook on a possible omnipotetial of "the machine" on the one side and
favours extensive use of exactly these machines on the other. They shouldn´t take over, though.
This in any possible sense.
