I always thought that punting was the process of moving a boat along by means
of a large stick (not to be confused with a bargepole). Many dreamy memoirs
of Oxford types contain references to punting. I think its what a lot of
scholars there seemed to do on their days off.
A punt is also an Irish pound.
Is someone out there compiling a microsound glossary or something?
