cheap shot / new SND

This is not directed at you, Richard (though you do love your silence on
those fallt tracks :)
Judging by some of the microsound stuff I've heard, maybe it's more like
"they send a multi-track tape with blank tracks" and then the other
composer sends it right back ;-)

Wow, this new SND 2x12" (stdiosnd) on Mille Plateaux is really good. I'm
enjoying it much more than "makesndcassette". I think part of it is that
I've got it on vinyl versus hearing "makesndcassette" on CD. The SND
sound palette is just too limited, for my tastes, to hear 70 minutes of
straight-through tracks using just that palette. Hearing 10 or 12
minutes, the length of one side of a 12" is just fine, though.
Similar experience with the "newtables" 12" (which I like a lot) and the
"system medley" 7" (which I like a WHOLE lot) bears this theory out.
Cheers,
Bill
