happy 01 from 12k! thank you to everyone for 4 years of continued
interest and support in 12k. 2000 saw the formation of 12k's LINE
sublabel with conceptual work, A&R and design by richard chartier.
january 2002 will be 12k's 5th annivesary.. so this year will be the
planning of a special release for the occasion.

we wish everyone a creative and aesthetically pleasing new year!

1. new releases for march

12k1012/line004 - various artists 'between two points' double cd
a split 12k/line compilation featuring exclusive material from taylor
deupree, richard chartier, *0, 0/r, steve roden, kim cascone, komet,
immedia, bernhard gunter, noto, mark fell (snd), duul drv, goem, roel
meelkop, miki yui, mikael stravostrand, vend, & shuttle358.

line003 - miki yui "lupe luep leup epul" cd
full length from tokyo/cologne microsonic producer miki yui. small,
small sounds.


new releases scheduled for early march release.


2. shuttle358 interview/review watch
the new shuttle358 "frame" release is causing a bit of a stir among
listeners and press. we've been given the heads up on a few reviews
printing soon in The Wire, Revolution, Alternative Press, Urb ,and
XLR8R.. with interviews in Boston's Weekly Dig and Ambientrance
webzine (http://www.ambientrance.com)


3. shuttle358 debut, "optimal.lp" now out of print
as of today, 12k is out of stock of shuttle358's debut release
"optimal.lp".. what this means is that no more ordering of the cd can
be done directly from 12k but stores and online retailers may still
have it in stock. Playing By Ear in albuqurque, NM bought the
remaining copies. they can be contacted at pbe@xxxxxxxxx

the cd is now officially out of print and will not be re-pressed.


4. komet in ambientrance + alternative press top 10
komet's "rausch" cd (12k1010) was listed by alternative press's dave
segal as being one of the top 10 cds of 2000. also, at #6 made the
top 10 of 2000 in ambientrance (http://www.ambientrance.com). as a
side note, there is less than 10 copies of that cd available through
12k. this release, however, is not strictly limited and may be
re-pressed in the future (although no plans are made as of yet).
