there are lots of directX plugins and even a few PC apps that aim at vinyl
restoration specifically, and even more that do general noise reduction like
click/pop removal, hiss reduction, etc.

also there are some vocal remover programs that work by basically seperating
mono and stereo sound, so if the vocal is in mono (as most vocals are) and
other instrumentation is panned then it can do an ok job of seperating the
vocals.

and of course, EQ EQ EQ!
