interesting question and point of views,
heres my 2 cents in this pot of opinions--
microsound is music or a reasonable representation of the sense( noise may 
be musical too, its all preception)which has been acheived through 
"extensive use of" dsp and non-realtime manipulation of recorded live 
instrument.
by quoting 'extensive' i wish to emphasise, that microsound music has to be 
acheived with an unusally extensive use of digital synthesis and processing 
techniques

....but im always confused why most of the list members cringe when autechre 
are mentioned as micro sound
