i have already said, i have studied music theory quite a bit at community
college and through books and other sources, i am a fluent jazz pianist, i
work as a producer-for-hire for many different things. sure the music i
write is tonal, that's the name of the game!
my point in this discussion has been that microsound seemingly ignores this
game and does its own thing, which is artitistically valid, indeed with the
opportunity to be more experimental, creative, interesting, "artistic" etc
because of the lack of limitations.
music theory would analyze a microsound piece and musically invalidate it
because the theory could not describe it properly. theoretically, microsound
is in the same category as "silence" or lack of music.
