Check out Tod Dockstader - Quatermass.
A work which AFX, Autechre and Squarepusher have all praised in interviews,
and definitely a good step forward in the 'old school' direction if you've
come via the 'Warp' route (as i did).

Also Bernard Pamegiani has been name-dropped by these sorts quite frequently.
