RE: [microsound] The women of microsound
Actually, I have an amusing anecdote which I think is germane:
A freind and musical associate of mine recently substituted for a show at
our local (Bloomington Indiana, USA) community radio station, WFHB
(91.3Mhz, 98.1Mhz, and online), the "Women's Hour," a show which normally
emphasizes the "earnest singer-songwriter" side of life quite heavily.
Anyway, he provoked a few angry/confused telephone calls from regs when he
played some of Sachiko M's "100% memory-free sampler" music full-bore.
"what's this stuff????" etc.
Strike another blow for the revolution. BTW Scott, good luck with your
plight: it hardly needs to be said that break-ups suck, but I'll go ahead
and do it anyway.
p.s. For those interested in checking out WFHB online, I recommend Sunday
Evenings from 10:00-12:00 Eastern Standard Time....the featured show,
"Melody unasked for" is an unyielding bastion of Avant sonics over
Southern Indiana's airwaves.
Ok, time for me to go check out Isotope 217 and Chicago Underground
Duo....
piece!
