Re: [microsound] Speed detection

anyone know of any software that can tell you the speed (beats per minute)
of an mp3 file on the fly, i.e. without having to uncompress it to wave and
then open in wave editor

all kidding a side, there appears to be an mp3 "djing" program for the mac by http://www.thhdesign.com/ called on air 2.0. apparently you can get bpms, beat match and the like on the fly.

i hope people didn't think my last email was aimed and list members because it wasn't at all. akira's remark "what the hell is a beat?" struck me as kinda funny being that i'm sure list members have heard from strangers the "i've got beats in my head" thing at party or at live gigs or where ever. i know i have.

sorry if i offended anyone, i totally didn't mean to.
