RE: [microsound] Performing "Live"

Im planning my first gig right now.

Ive been making music for maybe 6 years but id never felt I was able to
justify doing anything really 'live' until I bought a Nord Modular (about 2
years ago now - its taken me this long to get round to it :).

Im going to be playing some stuff live from the NM, also using it to process
audio from my minidisc player, and also have another 'dry' CD or Minidisk
going through my Spirit 12:2 mixer to help keep things going when im loading
patches and reconfiguring. Oh and I have a cheap old Alesis FX box for a bit
of live reverb and feedback fun.

Ive been writing my best stuff for a long while, simply because the
restrictions AND benefits of playing live are so different to just simply
preparing 5 mins or whatever of audio. Its the same feeling I used to get
from just using a drum machine and a couple of primitive synths. I may
compliment this lot with a Laptop one day, but not unless I feel im really
lacking something (although the prospect of mapping all 18 of the NM's knobs
to a Reaktor patch is tempting ;)
