after reading a recommendation from this list a while back.. today i
picked up the collaboration cd between sachiko M and toshimaru
nakamura.. called "do"..

nakamura is the guy known for using his mixing board as an
instrument.. creating silence and feedback loops.. and sachiko M is
the "no memory sampler" (in reality, an akai using the built in sine
wave that takes up a tiny bit of ROM) with sine waves...

the cd is excellent.. lots of extreme high pitches and hissing
sounds.. but in a very gentle way. it reminds me a lot of richard
chartier's work although not quite as flowing. kind of what you might
get if you crossed chartier and noto... there are some rhythmics..
some loops.. but they are subtle...

highly recommended..
