well, for whatever reason. i won't speculate :-)

as soon as there are people that use the word with a meaning and all, 
it exists, even if you don't find the exact equivalent in a 
dictionary. i'm sure till, stephan and any other german understand 
the meaning of "daseinsverfehlung". but "missing existence" simply 
doesn't do it.

monografie is even in the dictionary. it means something different 
though (and in english, too), namely a (thorough, possibly 
scientific) study about a single + specific topic. such as the work 
of asmus tietchens.
as for the meaning of "stereography", i can only guess.
