alternatives to napster

now that napster seems to be fading into the shadows, for better or for 
worse, what other places are people turning for file-sharing? i've been 
trying napster for the last little while, but since it's been largely 
abandoned, there's not much good stuff to be had anymore. What places have 
people on this list turned to get their file-sharing fix?

on a truly peer-to-peer note, is anyone open to trading files with over msn 
messenger? i've got a fair amount of stuff people might be into.
