Re: [microsound] pan sonic in calgary/winnipeg

there were equipment probems. they hated the pa. hated the soundman. in the
tour diary-"we knew we were in for trouble when we saw it was kids picking
us up at the airport." not knowing of course that (some of) these 'kids'
(puts; Im not too familiar with the basement music people) have been putting
on shows for years, bringing in all sorts of people, from spacetime
continuum to richard devine and phoenecia... and then, on top of that, they
had troubles in customs. so there were all these extrinsic things weighing
the whole ordeal down- yet they still managed to please alot of people-
apart from themselves, of course.

meek, who played after them, was really the highlight of the night. he was
at least enjoying himself- not being a rockstar.

read their tour diary at tonesanddrones.com to get an idea about what they
think about all of it.

it was a nice show.
not *astonishing;* but nice.
someone said it was the best recieved 'noise' show theyd seen in calgary,
and Id agree- very rare occurence that was well appreciated.

they took all their anger out on us.
and then went and hid as they got a loud & nearly unanimous ovation.
and then "got paid and ran."
