electrocd.com new & improved + rien à voir ( montréal)

for lack of actual conversation, i figured i'd send in a little plug for
those interested in electroacoustic music, particularly canadian & u.s. residents.

electrocd/diffusion i média <http://www.electrocd.com> has just gone
through a graphic & architectural rehaul.  it's more extensive, easier
to browse through, & looks somewhat more minimalistic than the old one.

go take a look for a catalogue of excellent electroacoustic music from
empreintes digitales, INA-GRM, celia, magison, earsay & many other fine
labels.  not to mention a pretty extensive resource with sound clips,
biographies, liner notes & more.

as this is a new site, you may encounter some errors; feel free to let
us know, they will be corrected quickly.

also: those in montréal will be glad to hear that the new rien à voir
festival (now in its 9th edition) will be host to adrian moore
(UK/empreintes digitales), régis renouard larivière (france/INA-GRM),
gilles gobeil (québec/empreintes) & beatriz ferreyra
(argentina/france/bourges) as well as works old & new from many
composers from around the world, playing on 35 speakers (all at once!)
to your ear's delight.  this is happening from may 9 to 12 at ex-centris 2.

personally i'm looking forward to adrian moore's solo concert (also
featuring jonty harrison's classic "klang") & both of gilles gobeil's
(his "carte blanche" concert features, among other things, stockhausen,
denis smalley & three short noisy duets by martin tétreault & rené lussier.)

by some freak cosmic incidence, one of my own works, "space intoned",
will be presented during the "young composers" concert, so come by if
you're curious.
