hard to beat Graeme Revell 's (ex-SPK) "insect musicians" album
(sorry, don't have it in front of me for label/year).. but, it came
out in the 80's at some point...

2 years of insect sound recording in the jungles somewhere.. and then
1 year of processing/composing on a fairlight system..

quite an intriguing record.. with excellent liner notes...
