Rafael Toral is a musician, producer and sound engineer. Born in Lisbon in
1967, he has been performing live since 1984. Considered by the Chicago
Reader to be "one of the most gifted and innovative guitarists of the
decade", his work focuses mainly on the possibilities of ambient music
(variable attention listening process), the electric guitar as a sound
generator and improvisation with higher levels of risk (using instruments
or systems that behave in unpredictable ways) in real time sonic
exploration.

"Nagoski really rips with some higher-mind electronics, brutal and
unsophisticated on one hand, beautiful and truly elevating on the other.
Listening to this is like examining fractal images through a microscope -
you'll lose your sense of self." - Bruce Russell.
Nagoski, typically presents his music in collaboration with video artist
Chris Rice, light artist Daniel Conrad or Pelt guitarist Jack Rose. His
first release Warm, Coursing Blood was issued in 1999 by Colorful Clouds
for Acoustics; his second is forthcoming on Edition (...). He also writes
about music for various magazines, is Contributing Editor of Halana
magazine, and is a member of the Red Room collective in Baltimore,
Maryland.
