Well as the renowned jazz guitarist Jim Hall said 'atonal and free jazz is
the last refuge of the untalented'.  Although I think there are people
working in atonal and free jazz areas who have wound up in that position
because of their talent rather than inspite of a lack, its the ones who have
an uncompromising devotion to difficult music whos talents may be suspect.
