Re: [microsound] chicago clubs

I live, work and perform in Chicago, so their are quite a few places I can
tell you about. The top few I can think of right off the top of my head
are Deadtech, the Hothouse and the Empty Bottle. Deadtech
(www.deadtech.net) is a pretty nifty gallery for tech arts. Rob has audio
performances monthly (sometimes more) and is a good designer
and nice guy besides. Karheinz Essl and Kim Cascone have
performed there, along with quite a few other good performers.

The Hothouse is a world music/experimental jazz/electroacoustic space with
a bar and a gallery space. The Hothouse is a really nice space with a
wonderful sound system, and I've seen some spectactular work of all sorts
there. Nick Collins has performed there and at Empty Bottle as
well. Empty Bottle is a catch-all for all sorts of music. Oval and Add N
to X will be there in July.

I can proably get more information to you later this week. Unfortunately
I'm at work so I can't get it all now. Good luch.
