why stamp? too expensive! if you make more than 1, use Pic, SX, or AVR... BS
doesn't have A/D, so you have to use Maxim chip unless you do "RCtime"
thing.

in terms of parts, you can use cool IR proximity sensor at $10 (up to 80 cm,
proximity to voltage)

this week I'm making PS/2 to MIDI converter, to make MIDI mouse/trackball.
