you might consider creating some interactive flash movies to go with your 
live set, i have done this to good effect. flash works well in live 
situations if you keep it in the vector world. you can do alot with embedded 
movie clips as buttons that change in a roll over state, at least in order 
to be able to do something live that allows for user input ie-mouse 
movement.  but flash is not free, see if anyone in your grad program has a 
copy for you to use. just a thought.
