Pole (was Re: gear names )

I think he named it after the broken 4-pole filter on his Waldorf synth - a
4-pole filter attenuates the input signal by 24db an octave (or is that a
6-pole. I forget) - you also get 2-pole, 1-pole etc filters.
I wonder how reliant that sound really is on that broken synth - what if the
thing breaks or gets stolen? Will Pole start making UK Garage?

question that's been nagging me. Now, I'm not a techincal person, I don't
own
any music gear that costs over $400 (including my computer) and I usually
don't
read the instruction books that come with samplers, etc, unless I'm
desperate.
So this may be a dumb question. I was wondering how the name Pole is
related to
Gear. I know that it has something to do with that patented Pole sctratchy
sound.>>
