Re: [microsound] any good releases lately?

Do check out Chris Degiere's 'Diffusion Chamber'
tracks at notype:
http://www.notype.com/users/degiere/diffusion_chamber/

i don't really mind people downloading off this URL, but it's actually a temporary folder not meant for public use, & it might disappear without warning (unless chris decides to leave it there forever :). the proper URL of _diffusion chamber_ for archival purposes is:

http://www.brokebeat.com/mp3/diffusion_chamber/

chris was originally planning to release _diffusion chamber_ on no type (which is why it sits on our site as well), but as someone is interested in releasing a record with these tracks, he will actually release a different set of pieces for his no type release, which should come out sometime before the end of summer.

for those who didn't hear it, yes, it's very good indeed. a nice mixture of DSP technology applied to sultry sound. i hear todd drootin (of books on tape & subverseco fame) is working on setting up shows with him, elasticlego & ven voisey (i.e. the no type californian branch :) so be on the lookout if you're around SF or whatever...

speaking of no type, there are actually some pretty amazing things coming up which should appeal to this list particularly, such as the aforementioned chris degiere & ven voisey, but also claudia bonarelli's astonishing debut, & illusion of safety's mini-album _graintext_ coming up next week along with new music from infoslut (ex-matrix assimilation) & idmonster. & hopefully more time on my part to take care of all these updates. :)
