Speakers, Dells, Concerts

I´m going to sound old and grumpy and please ignore me all you like if
you can, but it seems this list has become a serious wasteland as of
late. Now there´s talk of nearfield monitors, Dell laptops and even
technical problems relating to software malfunctions. Perhaps there
isn´t enough microsound to go around during the summer, but this is
getting ridiculous.

The initial guidelines for the microsound list was quite strict when it
first came about, and I liked it that way. Now, though, there´s almost
no mention of music anymore, except in the form of numerous (numerous)
concert announcements, which is quite meaningless information for
someone living in Norway anyways (I´d much rather people actually
reviewed some of these events, rather than just posting the where and
who and how much).

I know this isn´t a popular solution, but splitting things up into tiny
atoms seems the way of the future...so how about a microsound-concerts
list and a microsound-equipment list?

>From Saturday evening to Monday morning I received 51 postings from the
microsound mailing-list, and I think maybe three or four had anything to
do with what I thought this list was supposed to be about. I´m just
getting tired of using the delete button all the time, and I´m getting
tired of people talking about Dells and speakers. There are plenty of
other forums where these kinds of discussions flourish. I wouldn´t mind
if this just happened once in a while, but at the moment off-topics have
become main topics...the norm, in other words.

OK, I´ve grumped enough. (now you can retort: "Who do you think are,
trying to dictate what should and should not be on this list?"; well, I
haven´t dictated anything, the 'founders' did)

Back to Dell.

n.p. Bisk - Ticklish Matters; picked it up for about $4. What a great
buy, even though it´s "old".
