Bovine Life "social electrics" [bleep 06]
Very pleased with this album, 4 panel Digipack that looks great and is a
killer !
Bovine Life is the moniker of award winning UK film maker / digital
artist Chris Dooks, who was known for his film work on musicians such as
or his four tracks on our BiP_Hop Generation v.3... His first album
introduces some solo works, and besides some collaborations wit Kohn,
Third Eye Foundation, Future Pilot Aka, and artists from labels such as
Mego (Alku), Leaf (Ylyptyk), Janek Schaefer, Diskono... If you've ever
been put on hold, you'll know that the tune they play down the telephone
is a waste of telecommunications ! Not so with Chris?s modem adventures.
Bovine Life has been jamming through the modem, speaking in electronic
tongues, secreting sounds that vary from being immersed in amniotic
fluid, right through to searing bleeps that would make any nation stand
to attention ! Enhanced CD features a short movie by Chris Dooks.

A major proportion of the sounds are samples of woodwork noises,
different timbers, turning processes, shavings, planings, splintered
pieces, contact mikes on veneered surfaces, acoustic instruments such as
piano, fused with microsounds to create a rhythmic template between
digital glitch and organic sources. Literally, different timbers and
timbres; the grain on the wood becoming almost the grooves of a vinyl
record, spiralling forward. The music speaks for itself.

"music being almost a painting, that you could stare at in a gallery or
the pictures and shapes (synaesthesia) of your mind?. Cray is the
current outlet for Australian sound merchant Ross Healy. Etched sound
worlds; carved sine waves, slices of  twisted time, with a faint memory
of melody.
