i'm just watching the news like everyone else... there is a lot of 
dust and fumes outside.. so i'm staying in... and i live a few miles 
from the towers... my wife is stuck @ work in midtown.. all subways 
are closed down. and bridges and whatever else.

i don't want to watch the news too much. it's all the same and is 
really painful. but it's hard not to watch.

having lived in NYC for a long one often thinks about this kind of 
thing.. but not so seriously. manhattan is such a tightly populated 
place. justa  few square blocks can house/work hundreds of thousands. 
it's unfathomable what has happened.
