RE: [microsound] pc laptops and digital audio

the LT? i have that laptop and it is a dandy little machine. a bit
slow compared to my ibm T21 but i have never had any of the
aforementioned fan problems with this machine. the small screen and low
resolution do make interfacing with some audio apps a bit cumbersome.

i like dells cause they seem to be the easiest to get non-windoze OSes
up and running. on my dell, i run BeOS and QNX besides win98. my ibm
has some fucked up little bios problem which makes getting dual boots
running a bitch. also with it savage IX video card and funky network
card, BeOS and QNX don't agree with it.

:Did your research uncover the fact that most recent Dell laptops have a
:cool feature that causes the system fan to freeze the system
