i normally don't try to play the genre game. when
people ask i say i like weird electronic music, and
usally people know what i mean, and if they don't
i'll try to describe it more specifically,,, the same
thing with other sorts of music, most of the rock
bands
i like are fairly different and so i try to just say
i like jagged dynamic sexy drunk percussive rock
typically... except jazz... i tend to just say, i like
jazz. classical even is a dirty word i think. sure,
there are the classics... but for me, most of the
classical or contemporary classical i listen to is
what
i call my "emotional music"even though it's all based
around my emotions somehow, for some reason, maybe it
is the resonance and directness of a string section
that makes me immediately make the emotional
connection. ,,, i don't really know why
i've developed these descriptors, but genres seem to
insult the music. it's like herding the cattle... i'm
not interested in cattle though, i like meat. sorry.
i'm on some anti anxiety medicine that's made me act
a little loopy so forgive my babblocity.
i often want to post to this list about different
kinds of music, but they're usually so acoustically
irrelevant that i don't bother... there's a world of
music out there though, if we all like whatever the
fuck microsound is (or was, haha?), well, then i'd
appreciate knowing what else is out there that i
might never even knew existed.
