rechenzentrum engineer sound design, music and video images into bleak,
and emotionally complex melodramas where the events are joined in
constantly shifting conflict.
sounds and rhythms become protagonists, creating barely resolverd
tensions and evoking scenes of subdued menace. theres something inherently
alive about their recordings.
even rechenzentrum  harder minimalist beats have something quick and
elusive about them.

naw:
neil wiernik a.k.a. naw has had a long history of both group and solo
electronic music projects including work with the crystal methodists
(goy division, rrr), phycus (total zero), and the urban refuse
group (total zero). in terms of solo work, neil has released music under
his both his given name and the pseudonym of naw, dropfile and linewireink
on such labels as avatar/ohm, rrr, mutant cactus recording, musicus phycus
and most recently on a/s systems. neil's recent work as naw features his
own interpretations of minimal techno, electro, dark ambient, dub, and
various other experimental musics.

blotto:
blotto one of the co-founders of the formerly longest running techno
weekly in the city of toronto: mettle, through which he garnered the
reputation of helping to bring the current sound of electronic minimalism
to this city. he introduced us to the live
sounds of chain reaction artists and other artists such as pole,
pan sonic (befor they droped the second 'a' from thier name), thomas
brinkmann and others. blotto returns to the decks on this night to bring
us a special set of more experiemental music then his normall dance floor
fillers.

greg clow has been the host of the radio program feedback monitor for over
five years, presenting the latest in electronic, experimental and related
music every tuesday evenings on cuit 89.5 fm. he also maintains a
website in tandem with the program which has been described as "the nexus
for up-to-date information in the Toronto electronic and experimental
music scenes". he has played live dj sets all over toronto and was
recently voted one of the "top experimental/avant garde djs in toronto"
in a poll conducted by eye weekly.

clonk is an umbrella organisation which neil wiernik (naw, dropfile,
linewireink) and greg smith (ethermann) commite various artistic activites
under. under this name greg and neil have thrown various events that
focused both on art of the visual and aural nature. up untill june of this
year we hosted a monthly event through which we featured both
local and internationaly know electronic music and visual artists.
There are plans currently under way to feature both aural and visual
artists in other forms under this umbella always keeping with our mandate
of a focus on the experiemental, minimal, murky, left of center and
bleeding edge work being produced by us and our peers. look out for more
up coming one off events such as this one in the near future as well other
none event like forms of dissemination of these supported clonky mediums.
