Third Track
Greetings,
Well, I just finished my third track; Just Trance. It is deep tech trance;
straight up. I was able to simulate a sound that resembles pulsar synthesis
by abusing a couple of plugins on the PC. Actually this little combination
runs "no-input". Since I just upgraded my PC to an Athlon XP 1900 I am sure
I can get a crazy no-input track going natively in Nuendo. I am also very
excited as I can now work on a complete track (mixing/mastering) without
having to bounce down any audio to free up CPU. I am going to be working on
a glitchy techno stomper next and hopefully will work again with the
musician/flautist, Chris O'Connell (wonderful musician) that provided a
flute part for the current track.
I am very lucky to have a friend that works in a post house in the SF area.
I was able to process my raw tracks for free over the holiday and finish
the mixing/mastering in Nuendo. I was able to use the Manley Massive
Passive EQ, Oram SonicComp, and Empirical Labs Distressor; also checked out
the Sony DMX-R100 mixer (very cool!). First time using anything of this
caliber and I must say I am much impressed with the Manley and the rest. My
next big studio improvement is to pick up the Mytek 2 channel stereo A/D
and possibly some better monitors at some point...
Anyway, yeah, it is a dance track, but there are many firsts here for me;
like my first dance track ;P among the technical aspects I have
accomplished independently.. Here it is:

You know Kim... I recently got around to viewing the video from your brief
Tate presentation and I must say I am in major dissent/opposition to what
you presented on many levels.
Cheers,
