Non-Event presents:
An evening of international
experimental music with
Keith Rowe, Gunter Muller
and Taku Sugimoto
Non-Event is pleased to announce a rare performance by three of the world?s
most original and highly regarded experimental and improvising musicians in
solo, duo and trio formats, including the return of AMM?s Keith Rowe after
his triumphant performance at the 2000 Autumn Uprising Festival.
The program consists of:
KEITH ROWE SOLO (from England) - guitar and electronics
A member of seminal free-improv unit AMM, Rowe's tabletop guitar work has
influenced guitarists from Syd Barrett to Fred Frith to Thurston Moore. He
currently leads the international electro-acoustic ensemble Music in Memory
Electronic Orchestra (MIMEO).
GUNTER MULLER/TAKU SUGIMOTO DUO (Switzerland and Japan)-
percussion & electronics; guitar
Muller is a pioneer of live electronic music, whose unique approach to
percussion can be heard in the groups poire_z and BTMZ, as well as duos with
Jim O'Rourke. Sugimoto is a central figure in Japan's burgeoning Onkyo
scene, whose meditative guitar work has been compared to "Jim Hall playing
the music of Morton Feldman."
ROWE/MULLER/SUGIMOTO TRIO A Boston premiere.
