at times, yes.  depends on the method the ripping program uses. 
errors which are ingored by the error-correction in your cd player 
may turn up after being ripped.  the are ussually very minor, a 
spare '1' here or there.  lots of errors and you have the 
'copy-protection' scheme labels are trying to foists upon consumers.
